If you love chicken and bacon recipes (and who doesn't?), you will really enjoy this easy Broccoli Bacon Cheddar Chicken dinner. Just throw everything on top of chicken in casserole dish, and then bake in one pan for 30 minutes! Done! Low-carb, gluten-free, keto friendly chicken recipe.

I'd like to note that there is nothing creative about this recipe.   All the ingredients are very basic: chicken, broccoli, bacon, cheddar cheese.   But the assembly and the cooking technique are so easy, which I hope makes this dish attractive to many, especially to those who love chicken and broccoli recipes.

And, by the way, in terms of simplicity and the ingredients, this recipe is very similar to my ranch chicken bake and buffalo chicken bake with bacon. It's all about making our dinners easy without sacrificing taste and our favorite ingredients.

Here are some more keto friendly recipes similar to this one. If you want to cook low carb, gluten free, high protein and higher fat recipes, take a look at these:

When you don't have too much time on your hands and don't want to think about what to cook for dinner - make this broccoli bacon chicken!

I recommend to blanch the broccoli before adding it on top of chicken (blanching means adding broccoli to boiling water just for a couple of minutes, removing it and draining it well).  Blanching the broccoli makes it moist and brighter in color.

How to make this broccoli bacon cheddar chicken:

First, add chicken breasts to the casserole dish:

Then, add blanched broccoli on top of chicken. Blanched just means that you add broccoli to boiling water for a couple of minutes, then drain it well - it makes the broccoli moist and brighter in color:

Next, add chopped cooked bacon on top of broccoli and chicken:

Bake your bacon broccoli chicken for about 30 minutes at 400 F in the preheated oven. The exact baking time will depend on the thickness of your chicken breasts.

Could I successfully make this in my slow cooker, just wondering if the broccoli would become mushy. I just LOVE how tender chicken gets when cooked in my slow cooker. This recipe sounds divine!!

Can I make this in the morning and put it in the refrigerator until I’m ready to cook it? How long should I cook it then since it will be cold.

I wouldn't keep the raw chicken with all the veggies piled on top in the fridge. This recipe is so easy - instead, you can pre-prepare the ingredients (cook and chop bacon, slice the broccoli, etc) in advance. Then, assemble all that on top of the chicken only immediately before roasting it in the oven.

Are the nutritional facts at the bottom of the recipe calculated for one entire casserole of 4 servings? Or per serving?

Would I need to make a side for this? Y’know since it’s keto lol I’m new to this, so I’m not sure if sides would just be unnecessary added calories..

I’ve been doing keto now for about 18 months. Once you get going (took my body about 2 months to fully adapt but I’m 72!) you won’t feel the need for a “side” dish as most keto meals are already so satisfying. I’ve lost 50+ pounds and have my active life back!

I would bake this first and then freeze in an air-tight container (or wrapped air-tight in plastic wrap).

This recipe has been added to my favorites! We've made it many times and we absolutely love it!! I do use extra bacon and cheese, I also use a little bit of the bacon drippings on top. I sometimes have crammed more chicken into the pan, or doubled the recipe using a larger pan, but this has been a mistake as it takes "forever" to get the chicken to finish. It's much better to divide between two pans and bake both pans side by side. We have used this recipe for company or when making a meal for people in need after surgery, new baby etc. We also make roasted red-skin potatoes as a side, and that's perfect! Thank you for this awesome recipe!!!
