Crepes filled with jam or fruit preserves used to be my number one childhood breakfast favorite! Growing up, I used to really look forward to weekends when my mom would start making crepes for me and my sister which we then would fill with different kinds of jams and fruit preserves. Cherry and strawberry jam fillings were our favorite!

If you ask me what’s my favorite way to eat strawberry or raspberry jam, it will definitely be as a crepe filling. I am not a big fan of toasting a slice of bread and then spreading a jam over it, but I do like jam-filled crepes!

I like them even better than Nutella-filled crepes. Fruity crepe fillings are so much better and lighter than chocolate ones! Try it for yourself and you’ll see!

Easy crepes with jam or fruit preserves

  1. Prepare crepes using detailed, step-by-step instructions for my homemade crepes
  2. Add 2-3 tablespoons of strawberry or raspberry jam/preserves on top of the open crepe, fold the crepe in half, then fold it one more time to form a triangle. That's it!

You are the crepe master! I am trying to shield my screen from my Husband because, after our honeymoon in Paris, there isn’t a crepe he doesn’t want to try! My grandmother gave me a crepe pan but I am still scared!

Lindsey, you are so sweet! I bet there was such a variety of crepes and crepe fillings in Paris – you couldn’t try them all even if you wanted. Oh, Paris would be a paradise for a crepe lover like me! πŸ™‚

This is my go to dessert when sweet cravings hit! So simple but sooooo good! I actually made some last week after trying to ignore my cravings but it was no good. I had to get up and crank out crepes, though what I make are usually English pancakes, similar but a bit thicker. I love the photos with the jam seeping out, gorgeous!

When we make crepes, it’s usually with a sweet filling too (sometime a savory one, but not often). Jam is one of our favorites! They’re also really good if you sprinkle some cinnamon sugar on them, and then roll them up. I haven’t made crepes in ages — now you’ve got me hungry for them!

    • Julia February 3, 2014, 3:05 pm

I love crepes sprinkled just with plain sugar, not even with cinnamon! Love them! πŸ™‚

I have decided that you should either write a book on food photography or at least teach classes on it. Or both! These photos are stunning!

I’m with you – fruit filled crepes have it all over chocolate! Your look wonderful.

Thank you, Beth! Fruit filled crepes beat chocolate crepes every time in my book! πŸ™‚
