    Summer fruit salad

If you're looking for the perfect summer fruit salad, this recipe is just what you need. It highlights seasonal produce like yellow peaches and fresh, pitted cherries, combined with blueberries and seedless green grapes. Crumbled feta cheese complements the fruit beautifully. Toss everything with my homemade Honey-Lemon Mustard dressing, and you've got a flavorful and delicious summer salad that not only tastes amazing but also makes a stunning presentation. It's sure to be a hit at your next family gathering. Share it with the crowd at summer parties, BBQs, cookouts, and other festivities (including the 4th of July!). My other favorite summer fruit salads are strawberry mango spinach salad and this savory-sweet peach and blueberry spinach salad with prosciutto (or bacon).

    What to serve with it?

This recipe is the perfect summer side dish, complementing any summer meal like grilled meats, burgers, sandwiches, and BBQ dishes. Here are some of my favorite summer dinners that pair beautifully with this fruit salad. And, to make these, you do not need to fire up a grill or turn on the oven when it's so hot outside - all of these are stove-top recipes:

    • Garlic Butter Chicken with Zucchini and Corn (One-Pan, 30-Minute Meal)
    • Sausage and Veggies Skillet (30 Minute, One-Pan Meal)
    • Chicken Spaghetti with Burrata Cheese, Cherry Tomatoes, and Lemon Butter Garlic Sauce
    • 30-Minute Cilantro-Lime Chicken and Corn

    Helpful recipe tips

    • Make sure to buy seedless grapes. I prefer green grapes as they nicely complement the vibrant colors of the other fruits in the salad.
    • Use ripe yellow peaches. Opt for ripe yellow peaches to ensure they’re juicy and have the right texture. Unripe peaches can be firm and lack sweetness. If your peaches aren't quite ripe, leave them out at room temperature to ripen (that can take several days) before using them in a salad.
    • A cherry pitter can be a game changer. I found one on Amazon that made pitting the cherries quick and easy, saving me so much time and effort!

    Variations and Substitutions

    • You can substitute peaches with fresh apricots, nectarines, mangoes, or plums.
    • Can't find fresh cherries? You can use dried cherries (plump them up by soaking them briefly in boiling water). Or, use other stonefruit.
    • Use your favorite berries. This summer fruit salad can be made with any other berries you love: raspberries, blackberries, or strawberries.
    • If you don't like seedless grapes, you can use kiwi instead.
    • Don't like feta? Simply skip it!
    • Salad dressing. You can substitute honey and lemon in the salad dressing with maple syrup and freshly squeezed lime juice.

    Storage tips

This fruit salad stays fresh in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, thanks to the lemon juice in the dressing, which helps preserve the fruit.

    Make-ahead tips

You can prepare this salad ahead of time by combining all the fruit in a large salad bowl up to a day in advance. Make the salad dressing up to 3 days ahead. Add the feta cheese and dressing right before serving.

Just tried this salad recipe this week. My husband and I both loved it. The honey-lemon dressing has a touch of Dijon mustard in it which adds a little zing. Love having the feta cheese and a little basil in the salad. Very refreshing. Our new favorite!
