Banana bread with walnuts - perfect breakfast and dessert recipe!
    Moist banana bread with walnuts

This is simply the best recipe I've found so far for the most moist, perfectly sweetened, and easy banana bread. I added walnuts to this recipe, but they are totally optional, even though I love my banana bread with walnuts. This recipe is so easy, you don't even need a mixer - just mix everything with a big wooden spoon!

    Moist banana bread with walnuts

I've been eating this walnut banana bread for both breakfast and dessert for the past week and just love it!

    • 3 bananas , ripe, smashed
    • ⅓ cup butter melted
    • ¾ cup sugar
    • 1 egg beaten

    Instructions

    • Preheat the oven to 350 F.
    • In a large bowl, mix butter into the mashed bananas, using wooden spoon. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in. Add the flour last, mix just enough to blend the ingredients; do not over0mix, the lumps will work themselves out.
    • Add chopped walnuts to the batter and mix them in to distribute evenly through the batter.
    • Butter a 4×8 inch loaf pan. Line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper, butter the parchment paper too. Pour the batter in the pan. Bake for 1 hour. Cool on a rack. Remove from pan and slice to serve.
    • Note: lining the bottom of the pan with parchment paper ensures that the bottom of the bread will not get stuck.

After many years of my husband asking me to try my hand at making banana bread, I finally made it for him using your recipe. He is quite fussy and he loved it! He constantly tells me how much he loves it and that you could easily sell this at a cafe/restaurant and now I make it for him once a week. I would highly recommend this recipe to anyone, beginners or advanced cooks.

This is the best banana bread recipe. It's the one I always use. If we are in a time crunch I usually dish out the batter into muffin pans. This recipe makes for the perfect banana muffin as well!

I have never made banana bread before and I was craving it. I followed this recipe exactly and it’s soooooo good! And was very easy to make too! The bananas I had were a little on the small size, so I used 4.

Is baking time the same if you use 9x5 loaf pan?

Yes, the baking time would be the same for 9x5 loaf pan - about 1 hour.

I LOVE this recipe! My 3.5 year old and I made it together today and it was absolutely delicious- so moist on the inside and a sweet little crisp on the outside. We didn’t have baking soda, so I substituted with 2 tablespoons of baking powder and added a dash of cinnamon. It was perfect!! I would love to add this to my list of treats to give to loved ones during special occasions. Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful recipe!

      I have chosen your recipe
because is more tasty with walnuts
I have added small pieces of my
      candied orange peel,
      thus reduced sugar to
1/2 cup only and used half cup
Of almond flour and 1 cup of
      Semolina flour grinded
to be a little bit finer.
      Tastes delicious
      Thank you for nice recipe

I love this recipe! The only thing I do differently is grind up old fashion oats and use this instead of flour.

I'm (or my kids rather) are in LOVE with this recipe!!
Have been using it for about a year now. I have never made a loaf; I always make muffins out of it. Easier for the kids to grab. I sometimes add pumpkin pie spice. Thank you!

I am going to try this recipe later today. It sounds delicious and so easy. I don't have parchment paper at home, so I hope that greasing the pan will be sufficient.
