Banana bread with walnuts - perfect breakfast and dessert recipe!
    Moist banana bread with walnuts

This is simply the best recipe I've found so far for the most moist, perfectly sweetened, and easy banana bread. I added walnuts to this recipe, but they are totally optional, even though I love my banana bread with walnuts. This recipe is so easy, you don't even need a mixer - just mix everything with a big wooden spoon!

    Moist banana bread with walnuts

I've been eating this walnut banana bread for both breakfast and dessert for the past week and just love it!

    Instructions

    • Preheat the oven to 350 F.
    • In a large bowl, mix butter into the mashed bananas, using wooden spoon. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix in. Add the flour last, mix just enough to blend the ingredients; do not over0mix, the lumps will work themselves out.
    • Add chopped walnuts to the batter and mix them in to distribute evenly through the batter.
    • Butter a 4×8 inch loaf pan. Line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper, butter the parchment paper too. Pour the batter in the pan. Bake for 1 hour. Cool on a rack. Remove from pan and slice to serve.
    • Note: lining the bottom of the pan with parchment paper ensures that the bottom of the bread will not get stuck.

I’ve been looking for an easy, delicious, bananabread recipe. I stumbled across this one years ago and been using it since then.
My husband loves chocolate, so I have been adding some chocolate chunks to it and add a chocolate coating.
He loves it, and so does everyone around me who tried your banana bread before .

I made this banana bread this afternoon. I usually use another recipe but thought I'd try something a little different. It came out great! We love the crunchy exterior! Thank you for an updated way to make banana bread.

Today is going to be the second time I made this banana bread recipe and I love the way my place smells when I cook it. The first time I made I had to give some of it away because I couldn’t stop eating it.

Tried this recipe for the first time. Not only was it so quick and simple to put together, but the outcome was amazing! I threw some pecans and walnuts in there...and it turned out spectacular. My teenagers loved it. They are hard to impress. I don't lane reviews for anything. I'm a busy mom with 5 kiddos. But for this, I had to take a couple. Thank you.

I made some “granola bars” ( dates, sesame oil, vanilla, unsweetened coconut flakes, walnuts). No one was eating them so I threw it in and added fresh rosemary and omg so good. Even my picky daughter loves them 🙂

      Great banana bread recipe.
      Thank you for posting it.
I like how easy it is to make, & I also prefer the light sugar content. It’s plenty sweet with 3 ripe bananas included.
It’s also a great way to save over ripe bananas.

      Hi,
Thanks for a great recipe. My family and I enjoyed eating the bread. It turned out a bit soggy though. I left it in the oven for an extra 15-20 minutes but it was still “wet” in the middle. Since it was wet, the slices didn’t turn out neatly either. What can I do to make sure that the next time I make it, it’s not soggy and makes neat slices? Thanks again!

OK you passed the Ultimate Test! My son! He loves this banana bread. He is so hard to please, he wants everything sweeter than the recipe calls for. But I didn't add more sugar to this bread because I DON'T like extra sugary food. He Loves it and I am going to make a second loaf today. Thank You!

I made it again today. Husband & I love it!!!!! Thanks for this great recipe!!!

I just ate a slice right after cooling it, and it's delicious! I'll make two more tomorrow with the 6 bananas I still have. You're 100% right, it's not too sweet.

I never bake but I was tired of throwing away “slightly over ripe” bananas. So I found your recipe and surprised the family. There was nothing left once the bread cooled between my wife, me and three boys. I did add 1/3 cup chocolate chips for the heck of it. Today I’m making it again, lol. Thanks for your recipe!

This is a very fast and easy recipe and I’ve used it several times everyone just raves about it. Their always asking how I keep the walnuts crunchy while baking? I keep my walnuts in the freezer and then add them to this awesome Banana Bread recipe. It’s always a hit. It most and delicious. I always make extra loads for my 86 year old neighbor she loves it and it a hit at my husband’s work too.
