Greetings! I am Julia, and welcome to Julia’s Album – my blog where I regularly share easy-to-make weeknight (and weekend) dinner recipes, as well as an occasional dessert. Majority of the recipes on my site are savory dishes – mostly dinners, main dishes, pasta recipes, soups, salads – you’ll find lots of those here at Julia’s Album, with an occasional dessert thrown in for good measure. I started following a gluten free diet in 2014, and the majority of savory recipes on my site are gluten free or include a gluten-free option. My blog is a great resource for busy people (that’s all of us, right?!) who want to eat well without spending a ton of time on cooking.

I actively use both my FACEBOOK page and my PINTEREST page – you’re welcome to follow either or both, if you’re looking for DAILY delicious dinner ideas and inspirations both from me and other food bloggers (I share both my recipes and the recipes of other food bloggers via my social channels). Just like on my blog, most of what I share on FACEBOOK and PINTEREST are savory recipes (dinners, main dishes), with an occasional amazing dessert!

Julia - food blogger

The recipes presented on this site are everyday, familiar foods, cooked from scratch. A good place to start is my Recipe Index where the recipes are categorized by course (Breakfast, Dinner, Desserts, etc.), major ingredients, type of diet, etc.

I love to eat healthy, and I have a whole section devoted to Healthy Recipes. I also love to make hearty, comforting foods – so, I have lots of pasta recipes, recipes with bacon, I often cook with fish.

I cook and eat a lot of gluten free food and have a large section of my site devoted to gluten free recipes.

Julia - Food Blogger

I am so glad you’re visiting my site, and I really hope you’ll enjoy my recipes and photos!

My butler and I welcome you! 🙂

Julia, love your blog. But, my goodness, I hope you’re not going to try to keep up this frequency of posting – with a husband, two energetic dogs and a corporate job – whew! Love “peasant” food – hate things like sous vide and other trendy nonsense! 😀

  • Dee Newman May 17, 2013, 2:29 pm

I love love love your pictures Julia. I am about to buy a new camera. Can you share you photography gear?

    • Julia May 17, 2013, 6:33 pm

Hi Dee! My gear is embarrassingly simple and cheap. 🙂 I have a very old Nikon D80 DSLR camera (camera body) that is not produced any more, but you can buy used ones for about $300! That’s cheap! But the most important part is actually the lense – the lense that I use is a very basic 50mm Nikon lense – Nikon Normal AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D Autofocus Lens. It costs around $100 – I bought it several years ago at B&H (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/). This $100 lense is truly a classic – it will fit just about any Nikon camera body and it’s excellent for food photos or portraits!

  • Dee Newman May 17, 2013, 7:35 pm

That is sooooooo helpful Julia. Thanks so much for sharing.

  • Judy July 14, 2013, 4:50 pm

Your blog has unbelievably gorgeous photos and delicious sounding recipes that have made me want to make, and EAT— EVERYTHING!! I pinned a cookie recipe, went to your website, decided it was one I’d like to make…..then saw another food photo on the side bar that caught my eye by looking delicious, the next thing I knew- I had easily saved a bunch to make later. I’m on a baking blitz for Christmas and now have more to make that I’m sure will be added to the yearly repertoire! As well as the need to purchase the ravioli mold from Williams Sonoma 😛
I love everything about your blog from the beautiful photos, enticing and easy to follow recipes, to the tips (such as the one you have on photo editors).
    Kudos to you! 🙂

    • Julia December 19, 2013, 2:47 pm

Carol, thank you for such sweet comment! It made my day! And, you have such a lovely blog about travel & food – how cool is that? 🙂 Yes, the ravioli mold from Williams Sonoma is a must if you want easy ravioli!

  • Dina Chmut March 20, 2014, 1:48 am

    Hi Julia!
I found your blog while searching for a good salmon recipe on Pinterest, and stumbled upon your asian salmon recipe (with the rice noodles & asparagus). Luckily I had all the ingredients on hand, and made that recipe right away. O. M. G. I was BLOWN away! It was THE most delicious salmon I have ever made, thanks to you!! My sisters were both also drooling, and it was gone in a jiffy. The marinade turned condensed sauce was just magic. Thanks so much, looking forward to trying more recipes again soon!

    • Julia March 28, 2014, 3:20 pm

Dina, thank you for stopping by and for your super kinds words! So glad you enjoyed that salmon recipe with asparagus – it’s one of my favorite ways to eat salmon! Salmon works so well in Asian-inspired recipes! Thanks again for taking the time to comment! 🙂

  • Donna Forbes March 22, 2014, 5:14 pm

Just found your blog after “pinning” one of your recipes. So far, every one I have looked at, looks amazing and I can’t wait to start trying some of them!

    • Julia March 28, 2014, 3:16 pm

Donna, thank you for very sweet comment! 🙂 I am glad to hear you’re enjoying the pictures! 🙂 I am very flattered by the praise from my mother-in-law, too! 🙂

  • Sophia July 28, 2014, 4:28 pm

Wow! I love all your crepe recipes… In Russian, we have blini, which are similar. You can eat them with ricotta and honey. Mmm, always a treat! Thanks!

    • Julia August 7, 2014, 2:42 pm

Yes, I am very familiar with blini – I grew up eating them on weekends! 🙂 Usually with homemade strawberry or sour cherry preserves – yumminess! Thank you for visiting my site!

      • Sophia August 7, 2014, 3:21 pm

Hi Julia, Me too, especially on the weekends! Are you Russian? Mmm, sour cherries preserves 🙂

        • Julia August 19, 2014, 2:53 pm

    Hi Julia,
I stumbled onto your website and I am so glad that I did. I found out recently that I am highly gluten intolerant. I started doing some reading and was feeling like there was no way I could do a gluten free diet – until I saw your website and recipes. I am very excited to try several recipes I saw. Thanks for your great photos which really encourages me to try cutting gluten out of my diet!

  • Gina July 12, 2015, 3:54 pm

This was AMAZING!!!!!! The sauce was so light, not heavy like most Alfredo. I make a few adjustments, added more cheese and seasonings. This recipe will definitely be added to our regular meal rotations.

  • Marcelo September 2, 2015, 11:46 am
